    After a month, we are pleased. Programming and filter are easy. It is quicker than our last grind and brew. Water addition is a little more difficult than we would like (4 stars instead of 5).

    Works good in terms of functionality gets it only two stars, rest is worthless.

    Here are the issues:
    1. Self grinding uses too much coffee. 2 cups setting fills the filter half way
    2. Too course grinds using self grinding.
    3. Grinding size not adjustable
    4. Cup size setting has no bearing to how much water is used. Brewing continues until ALL of the water is used regardless of the cup size setting.
    5. Inaccurate cup size indicator on its reservoir. To get 2 cups amount of coffee, you need to put somewhere between 2 and 3 cups level.
    6. Too noisy grinder. We have separate burr coffee grinder which is quieter.
    – As a result, we gave up on using the self grinding feature.
    7. Unit will complain if you do not place ground coffee holder cover in starting to brew. Why do I need the cover if I am NOT using the self-grinding feature?

    Overall, we are disappointed. It’s a rather large unit for what it’s used for. Get a Mr. Coffee coffee maker and save yourself a hassle and a better coffee taste too.

    Never give a negative review, but this coffee brewer and grinder is too complicated for the average user. I have a lot of experience with coffee makers and bean grinders. Should have chosen that again. Wish I had not ordered this.

    I was interested in using this at a second location and not having to buy a grinder. I have traditionally had good results with Cuisinart in general and my in-laws have been using one of these for years so I decided to give it a try. That was a mistake. This thing is overly complicated and incited my extreme morning rage when I just wanted a cup of coffee and, after 3 failed attempts, had nothing to show for it but wasted coffee grounds and a counter covered in overflow coffee and grinds. I’m an engineer and I use a Moccamaster at home as well as a Decent espresso maker. I say that to qualify that I can follow instructions and figure out something that should be as simple as a drip coffee maker. I guess this experience taught me why there are only about 2 options for a product like this and they both have poor reviews. Just do yourself a favor and get a normal coffee maker and either buy a decent burr grinder or use ground coffee.
